From extremely fast wire bonding machines, to highly precise measuring and processing machines, to fast material handling systems, IDAM has the expertise and infrastructure to assist with a wide variety of linear motor applications.

IDAM can further optimize a linear motor system by combining it with either a mechanical bearing or air bearing support system.

Slotted synchronous L1, L2 and L2D series as wellas the ironless ULIM motors are especially suitable for machine tools.

L1 motors operate accurately and efficiently with low heat generation and the power generation is approximately 6 – 8 N/cm2. These linear drives are particularly suitable for measuring and feed tasks due to their slim design.

With the L2 motor series, our developers have succeeded in combining high power generation (> 10 N/cm2) with excellent synchronization properties and considerable efficiency – precisely the characteristics required in the precision machine industry. The cogging and load pulse forces have also been practically eliminated. This results in optimum synchronization, one of the prerequisites for precision processing. The high winding density means that heat penetration into the surrounding machine frame is minimized. Two separate cooling circuits and heat insulation also further reduce heat penetration.

The L2D series is characterized by an excellent power to volume ratio and by the lack of attraction to the guide system. This means it is predestined for dynamic applications requiring high performance. A very compact design supports the integration of these motors in the mounting structure.

The ironless motors of the ULIM series are particularly dynamic, have an excellent smooth motion and no cogging forces. Especially tasks with high dynamics and applications, which need highest path accuracy or constant speed, are good to resolve with this ironless, linear direct drive – e.g. measuring and testing systems, precision automation.

• precise positioning and uniform motion because of no cogging and very low active force pulsation

The Steinmeyer company was founded by Mr. August Steinmeyer in 1920. One year later, in 1921, he decided to specialize in micrometers, which was to become the product range for which the small company was soon to be recognized in the domestic market and abroad.

When the founder suddenly passed away in 1940, Mr. Erwin Beck assumed leadership of the company, and subsequently acquired it in 1950. The house with its attached work shop, built by the founder in 1937, became the origin of a factory plant which occupies some 8 acres of land today. The original house still exists, but has since been converted into office and meeting space.

Beginning in the late 1960′s, ball screws have been manufactured at the Albstadt factory. About 10 years later, this new product line outgrew the legacy micrometer manufacturing, and the organization and production facility had to be tailored towards the new product line. The traditional micrometer line, which still stands for precision and reliability of Steinmeyer’s products, is now manufactured at the FMS Suhl plant in Thuringia, an affiliated enterprise in the Steinmeyer group.

CEME S.p.A. was founded in 1974 and at the beginning it produced only solenoid valves for industry.

During the years Ceme has improved its products and their applications, it has developed the product line by a wider range of components for fluids control: Steam, Water, Gas, Air.

New types of solenoid valves, vibration and rotative pumps, flow control systems, pressure switches and safety valves have been developed.

Nowadays Ceme S.p.A. is composed of three different business units and each of the them deals in a definite market even though they all belong to the same great company .

The Appliances Division develops and produces components for household appliances and in particular for steam station and cleaning machines, as well as for H.V.A.C.

The Industrial Division develops and produces all over the world, through a network of 80 distributors, solenoid valves and pumps for 50 different industrial and professional applications.
